Denpasar Immigration Detention Center Deports British Foreigner

BAH (42) British citizens who were deported via I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport. Tuesday, (2/1/2024).

Dudy explained that after BAH was detained for 13 days at the Denpasar Detention Center and his staff made extra efforts in seeking his deportation, finally BAH could be deported to his hometown with all costs borne by the British Consulate in Bali with a loan scheme.

The man has been deported through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International airport on January 02, 2024 with the final destination London Heathrow Airport escorted by Denpasar Detention Center officers. BAH who has been deported will be included in the deterrence list to the Directorate General of Immigration.

“In accordance with Article 102 of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration, deterrence can be carried out for a maximum of six months and can be extended for a maximum of six months each time. extended for a maximum of six months and in addition, a lifetime ban can also be imposed on foreigners who are considered to be able to disrupt security and public order. However, further deterrence decisions will be decided by the Directorate General of Immigration by looking at and considering the entire case,” concluded Dudy.

In connection with the deportation of foreigners due to overstay violations at the beginning of 2024, the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Bali, Romi Yudianto appreciated the performance of the Denpasar IDC ranks, Romi also reminded all ranks to always increase vigilance and supervision of foreigners in Bali considering that currently it is still in the atmosphere of the New Year holidays and Bali is one of the favorite tourist destinations in Indonesia. This makes Bali a target for foreigners to enter and stay in Indonesia illegally.

“For this reason, we urge the immigration ranks to always increase vigilance and supervision of foreigners. Do not let any foreigners enter and stay in Indonesia illegally,” said Romi.
