NASIONALXPOS.CO.ID, BALI – The Bali International Film Festival (Balinale) which will take place on June 1-7, 2024 at Cinepolis Plaza Renon, Denpasar, is a supporter of the festival program, along with the InterContinental Bali Sanur Resort as a venue for festival programs, which aims to make Sanur a global film and entertainment industry.
For 17 years Balinale has been the premier festival of Indonesian films and hundreds of international films that thousands of film fans have always enthusiastically awaited.
This year’s event promises to continue the tradition of enlightening minds and opening hearts through a selection of 60 films of various genres from 25 countries. And 45 of them are premiere films.

Balinale is internationally known for its diversity of programs and the power of film programs in driving the growth of cultural and commercial values in Indonesia. The program of discussions and seminars includes the annual Bali Film Forum where the diverse film industry is discussed in a panel with prominent speakers, including government representatives as policy makers, investors and philanthropists looking to invest in the industry, as well as the presence of producers and directors representing the new wave of the Asian film industry.
Balinale 2024 will also present 6 outstanding films that provide a glimpse of the Hong Kong film industry in the Hong Kong Film Gala Presentation. For the third time, Balinale is collaborating with the Asian Film Awards Academy (AFAA).
The festival also receives support from the central and provincial governments as Balinale’s proven efforts have provided cultural, social and economic benefits to Indonesia. Balinale is also recognized for its special understanding of the importance of promoting the Indonesian film industry, art and culture through local stories and encouraging the growth of the domestic creative industry. The most important side of this commitment is the support to both budding and established filmmakers through training programs and knowledge exchange.
A brief history of Balinale
Bali International Film Festival (Balinale) was established in 2007 by Bali Film Center (BFC), a private company providing professional services and support for film and television production in Indonesia since 2002. BFC is also a Founding Member and BOD of the Asian Film Commissions Network of 18 countries. Other festival affiliations include Asia Pacific Screen Awards, Sundance Film Forward, American Film Showcase, HK International Film Festival, Asian Film Awards Academy, and Art of the Scored from The Juilliard School, Center for Innovation in the Arts.
