Australian foreigner Graham Murray Leggett (68) is suspected of being the victim of abuse from his business partner who will be deported, Tuesday, (26/3)

NASIONALXPOS.CO.ID, BALI — After being mistreated by fellow foreign nationals (WNA) until he suffered bruises, Australian foreigner Graham Murray Leggett (68) was targeted for deportation.

The reason is, Graham Murray Leggett the Kitas Investor holder, feels unfairly treated in Bali. He who was the victim of persecution, will instead be expelled from Bali.

It is said, the case that befell Leggett is a mirror of injustice from immigration, in this case the regional office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Bali. And it should be suspected that something is not good.

“We should suspect something with immigration, in this case the Bali regional office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, because our client is a victim of persecution,” explained Cita Ardana.

Regarding the deportation of his client, Citra Ardana has sent a letter of objection, because the reason for immigration getting the address listed on Leggett’s residence permit is not in the location. Even the cessation of the company managed by Leggett is part of the reason for immigration to deport.

“We clearly object, because our client’s whereabouts moved temporarily, because he was in a state of fear due to persecution, so clearly it was not the intention of our client to violate immigration rules,” said cita Ardana.

Cita Ardana also explained that Leggett had reported the persecution to Denpasar Police on February 25, 2024. The plan is for Leggett to be summoned and undergo an examination.

“Tonight our client will be examined by Denpasar Police at the detention center at 7pm,” said Cita Ardana.

Cita Ardana said, Leggett entered Indonesia armed with an investor visa valid from February 2, 2023 to January 22, 2025. Leggett runs a villa rental and luggage storage business in Bali.

“Our client experienced alleged criminal acts of persecution. And is in the legal process. Allegedly committed by his business partner. Australians too,” said Leggett’s lawyer, Kadek Cita Ardana Yudi, Sunday (3/24/2024).

Not only that, Leggett is now actually languishing in the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center (Rudenim) and will be deported Tuesday, (3/26).

After some time, Leggett was involved in a dispute with his fellow Australian business partner. The dispute led to an assault by Leggett’s colleague on March 13, 2024.

As a result of the persecution, Leggett suffered injuries and was hospitalized. Leggett also moved several times because he felt threatened by the alleged perpetrators.

By changing residence, it became an entry point for immigration to deport Leggett.

“The case experienced by our client is a big question and we should suspect the immigration institution in this case the regional office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Bali should be suspected,” said Ardana’s mind. (Uchan)
