NASIONALXPOS.CO.ID, PUNCAK ILAGA – Haris Azhar and Fatia Maulidiyanti were acquitted by the East Jakarta District Court on Monday (08/1/2024), in the case of alleged defamation of Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
The panel of judges at the East Jakarta District Court Stated that the charges against Haris and Fatia were “not proven“.
“Deciding, the defendant Haris Azhar has not been proven legally and convincingly guilty,” said the panel of judges at the East Jakarta District Court on Monday (08/01).
International spokesman for the West Papua National Committee (KNBP) Victor Yeimo said the Papuan people and KNBP welcomed the victory of the two activists Haris Azhar and Fatia Maulidiyanti.
According to him, what Haris and Fatia are fighting for against the conflict in Papua is the right thing.
“We Papuans convey to the Indonesian government, especially to Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Stop with the military business in Papua, especially in the Wabu block, we say that the Papuan people of Meepago, Intan Jaya, Dogiyai, Deiyai firmly reject the Wabu blok project that is about to be built in Papua, especially in Intan Jaya,” he said.
“We Papuans have suffered together with Freeport Company, no more Wabu block companies come with military business to carry out massive exploitation on meepago land, we meepago people firmly reject military projects, oligarchic elite projects in Jakarta, we are together with Haris and Fatia, the truth always win,” he said.
It is known that this case originated from a talk program on YouTube entitled, “There is Lord Luhut behind the Intan Jaya Military Economic-OPS Relationship! There is also a BIN general!!! NgeHAMtam”.
