Challenges and Society’s Role
Although Litmas has made a significant contribution to the initial development of terrorism inmates, challenges remain. The importance of community support in accepting terrorism inmates back into their social environment is highly emphasized. Educating the community about the coaching program and the success of rehabilitation is also an important part in changing the community’s perception towards ex-terrorism convicts.
The function of Litmas in the initial development of terrorism convicts in Indonesia shows the importance of multidisciplinary approach in dealing with the threat of terrorism. Litmas can design targeted coaching programs to resocialize terrorism inmates and reduce their potential involvement in radical activities. Meanwhile, community support and public education play a key role in the success of this prevention and development effort.
