NASIONALXPOS.CO.ID, BALI – The Bali Provincial Government is accelerating the inspections of Foreign Tourist Levy, IDR 150,000 which was planned to be carried out starting in May 2024 after running for 3 months. However, after carrying out several evaluations, the inspection schedule was finally moved forward to the end March 2024.

The first inspections will be carried out starting next week, March 26 2026, which will target tourism destinations in Bali like Uluwatu, Tanah Lot, Ulun Danu Beratan and also Tampaksiring.

This was revealed in the PWA monitoring and evaluation coordination meeting in the Etna Room of the Bali Provincial Tourism Office, Tuesday (3/19/2024).

The meeting was held by the Bali Government Tourism Office and attended by the Chairman of Bali Tourism Board, General Secretary of Asita, The Chairman of Guide Association , and other stakeholders.

Head of the Bali Provincial Tourism Office, Tjok Bagus Pemayun, explained that this inspection was to check and to ensure either foreign tourists had paid the the levy or not.

“So we carry out monitoring, namely monitoring and evaluation of foreign tourist levy at tourism destination, as well as socialization because this is a policy that is implemented in Bali,” he said.

It is said, that from the number of foreign tourists arriving in Bali, only 40 percent make tourist levy payments.

“Since the PWA was implemented, an average of 5,000 foreign tourists paid per day,” he added.

“Monitoring will begin in fourth week, March 26 2024, involving all tourism components and also the Tourism Police,” he stressed.

This Tourist levy check will be carried out at the entrance or exit of the tourism destination, so that it does not interfere with tourist activities enjoying the beauty of the tourism destination.

“Monitoring will be carried out at least twice a week, the complete schedule will follow,” he closed. (Tik/tim)
