“We are also grateful to the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy for supporting us from the beginning and from the last 3 years we have coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be able to socialize this BBTF to all countries that have representatives there,” added Winastra.
Meanwhile, deputy minister of foreign affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Pahala Nugraha Mansury while attending the 10th BBTF said congratulations to Asita on the opening of BBTF 2024.
“It’s great to be here, celebrating the opening of the Bali and Beyond Travel Fair 2024. I congratulate Asita Bali for organizing this event, with the theme “Exploring and Feeling the Beauty of Indonesia”. This annual event has been recognized as Indonesia’s leading international travel exhibition promoting Indonesian tourism. As a country blessed with natural beauty, tourism plays an important role in Indonesia’s economy and livelihoods. The sector contributes 4.1% of Indonesia’s GDP and employs more than 22 million people,” explained Nugraha.
Nugraha continued, the importance of understanding tourism and its linkages with the creative economy in achieving the SDGs. Therefore, Indonesia has spearheaded a resolution at the UN in 2021 to declare the International Year of Creative Economy for Sustainable Development.
He also hopes that the 10th BBTF 2024 activity can connect with all relevant stakeholders in the tourism sector to explore opportunities and enjoy various potential tourist destinations in Indonesia.
